Cases of contemporary art as a cyborgization process of society
Abstract
Could any forms of contemporary art be a cyborgization process? Art has evolved from the cave to an art that integrates the human being with new technologies. Movements like cyberpunk in the 80s, are generated by the idea that the man-machine connection is felt as lived reality. Since then this union has been progressing exponentially, to reach a moment where the cyborgization process has been interfering with contemporary art. At present, we can hear and feel the presence of the viewer in interactive art pieces; they hope to develop aesthetic and discursive capabilities in the showroom. Some contemporary artists are dressed as robots or modify their bodies to generate an art that looks to the future. This article presents some art work through which we can think about reality, where man merges with the machine and produces interesting issues on which to meditate about what is happening in society today.
