Studies on legal, sworn and court translation and interpreting: towards a bibliographic review according to data published in BITRA

Keywords: Legal, sworn and court translation, International relations, Bibliography

Abstract

In the last twenty years, the migratory flow and international relations have increased the number of documents that move from country to country and that arise from the different systems of law. As they move between different languages and cultures, these documents need a mediator in order to be valid in a given language and culture other than the one of origin. Thus, legal, sworn and court translation has gained ground in recent years, and is one of the most sought-after fields in the industry. For this reason, the aim of this article is to provide, in a detailed way, an overview of the literature published in the field of legal, sworn and court translation.
