Activismo político en Red: del Movimiento por la Vivienda Digna al 15M
Abstract
Recently, we have witnessed the emergence of a large number of social protests that seem to be changing the geopolitical map, the structures of power and social conscience all across the globe. These movements, although different from each other in origin, socio-political context, development, aims, members and results, have a fundamental similarity: the occupation of public spaces by crowds gathered and organized through Information and Communication Technologies [ICT].This paper examines The 15M Movement and The Movement for the Right to Housing as paradigmatic cases of aware multitude that have cropped up, organized and developed entirely from a telematic dimension. The inclusion of these movements in a theoretical framework based on social struggles and organized demonstrations on the network society will allow us to identify the features that define the NSMs gestated through new technologies and to differentiate them from the NSMs from the postmodern industrial era.
