On norms, tendencies and other regularities in audiovisual translation
Abstract
In this article reference to the manipulation school is made to offer a complete and critical summary of the norm theory, paying particular attention to the field of audiovisual translation. Besides, a reflection is proposed on whether purely descriptive attitudes in research can continue in an indefinite way or the moment for prescriptive behaviors has arrived. Finally, the term tendency is suggested not only as an intermediate step between a strategy and a norm, but also as a useful tool to carry out research centred on the search for translational regularities.Downloads
