Author Gudelines  

1. EdT consists of two sections: articlesand reviews.

Articles should be original, refer to research on some aspect of translation and should be no longer than 20 pages including notes, tables, pictures and bibliography. Reviews should be no longer than five pages and should consist of a critical evaluation of books related to the subjects with which EdT is concerned.

2. All contributions must conform to the following format: top and bottom margins should be 2,5 cm. and left and right margins, 3 cm; typeface Times New Roman 12, interlinear spacing 1,5. Originals that exceed these dimensions may be rejected. Quotations should be in Times New Roman 10; brief quotations should be enclosed in quotation marks (“...”) and be included in the body of the text. If they exceed four lines, they should be indented one cm. from the left of the body of the text and be in typeface Times New Roman 11, single space.

3.  Contributions must be computerized, using Word in its various versions exclusively. Texts presented in other programs will not be accepted.

4.  The bibliographic references should appear at the end of each article, in alphabetical order, in accordance with the APA guidelines (7^th edition):

Quoted volumes or articles that bear a DOI number should include it in their bibliographical reference, always in link format (http://doi.org/).

References to the bibliography should be included, in parentheses, in the body of the text, and cite the author’s surname(s) followed by the year of publication and, where appropriate, a colon and the page or pages to which reference is made; i.e. (Müller 2003: 1-10). The authors will make sure that all the links inserted in the text are fine and not broken.

5. Articles should be accompanied by: a) two summaries, one in Spanish and the other in English (between 200-250 words); if the article is written in neither of these two languages, it should also be accompanied by a third summary in the language of the  original; b) the title of the article translated into English; c) a series of key words or descriptors in the two (or three) languages of the summaries (maximum of six); and d) the index of the numbered headings of the work, which will appear at the beginning of the article. The languages in which EdT publishes are Spanish, German, English, French and Italian.

6. The authors will include email address and affiliation, as well as the ORCID identifier in link format.

7. If the article contains illustrations, they must be of sufficient quality to be reproduced. They can be sent via computer, always maintaining the degree of quality, in the usual formats (BMP, TIFF, JPG). The authors will indicate the places in the text where they want the illustrations to be inserted; these instructions will be respected to the extent that the composition layout permits. Images and tables should be numbered and have descriptive titles or captions.

8. Any article that does not comply with these norms of format, presentation or content will be returned to the author.

9. The Editorial Board will acknowledge receipt of the works sent, and, after hearing the opinion of its reviewers regarding their relevance and the level of contribution of their content, as well as their formal structure, will decide whether it is appropriate to publish them. Authors will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation.

The authors alone are responsible for the content of their articles. EdT will, notwithstanding, maintain its rights to the works accorded by law.

10. In the case of research that is based on sex and gender, authors are strongly recommended to mention whether their conclusions have considered the potential differences of both sexes.

REVIEWS

1. EdTconsists of two sections: articles and reviews. Reviews must not exceed five pages and should provide a critical assessment of books related to the topics addressed inEdT.

2. Reviews must adhere to the following format: top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm, left and right margins of 3 cm, Times New Roman font size 12, and 1.5 line spacing. Submissions exceeding these specifications may be rejected. Short quotations should be enclosed in quotation marks (“...”) and incorporated into the body of the text. Quotations longer than four lines must be set apart from the main text, indented 1 cm from the left margin, in Times New Roman font size 11, single-spaced.

3. Manuscripts must be submitted in electronic format, exclusively in Word (any version).

4. The heading of the review must include the complete reference of the work under review:

  • Title (in italics)
  • Publisher and year of publication
  • Number of pages

Example: Álvaro Aranda, Cristina, La interpretación sanitaria en una sociedad de profesiones. Comares, 2025. 176 pp.

5. The author’s metadata must then be provided:

• Full name
• Institutional affiliation
• ORCID

6. The text should follow the structure below:

• Brief introduction, contextualizing the work and its relevance in comparison with previous or contemporary publications.
• Summaryof the main contents.
• Critical analysisof the work, assessing contributions, limitations, originality, methodology, and style.
• Conclusion, synthesizing the evaluation and highlighting the relevance of the work for the field of Translation Studies.

The tone must be academic, clear, and precise, avoiding colloquialisms and unfounded personal judgments.

7. Bibliographic references must appear at the end, arranged alphabetically, and follow the criteria specified in the “Articles” section. References should be cited within the text, in parentheses, indicating the author’s surname, year of publication, and, where applicable, page numbers (e.g., Müller 2003: 1–10).
