Two Translations from Spanish into English at the End of the 15th Century
Abstract
As far as we know, La Celestina was the first book translated from Spanish into English, ca. 1525. However, there is enough evidence that before that date, at the end of the 15th century, translations of a documentary character were also being carried out between the two languages. This paper deals with two of such texts: the translation of a letter (previously translated from Arabic into Spanish) and the translation of a commercial document dated May 29th 1490.Downloads
