Author Biographies

Ekaitz Cancela Rodríguez
Ekaitz Cancela is an independent researcher, graduated in Journalism and Advertising & Public Relations from the University of the Basque Country. He has also completed a Master's Degree in Philosophy of History at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He publishes regularly in media such as El Salto or La Marea and is the author of the books Despertar del sueño tecnológico es su segundo libro (Akal, 2019), tras El TTIP y sus efectos colaterales (Planeta, 2016).
Aitor Jiménez González, Auckland University

Aitor Jimenez is an academic, lawyer, and activist. He submitted in December 2020 his thesis ‘The Silicon Doctrine’ at the University of Auckland, which analyses the legal ideology underpinning digital capitalism. Aitor Jimenez will join in 2021 the ‘ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society’ at the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he will conduct research on data civics and data ownership as a postdoctoral fellow.
