Art and critical design as triggers for social reflection on a more legible, inclusive and responsible artificial intelligence
Abstract
The article reflects on the ethical and political implications and the power relations produced by the integration of artificial intelligence computational systems in our society. It analyses how artistic and critical design practices address these questions, identifying certain leverage points to intervene in the different phases of the integral processes of Artificial Intelligence (AI). On this basis, we propose that this type of projects, which make usually opaque or enigmatic dynamics visible, can activate at a social level other ways of conceiving and understanding these technologies and generate new approaches on how and what to use them for.
