Impact of Severe Mental Disorder in the educational field of adolescents
Abstract
This paper presents analyzes the impact that Severe Mental Disorder (SMD) causes on the academic evolution of adolescents. Using a mixed methodological approach with key informants agents, the participating sample consisted of teachers who taught classes in the Therapeutic Educational Centers (THC) of the Madrid Regional Authority and coordinators of the THC. The analysis of quantitative data has been developed through Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test to ensure that there is correlation between variables with the program (SPSS, v.20.0). The qualitative analysis has been carried out using hermeneutical units and semantic networks with the ATLAS program / ti version 1.0.45 (185). There is a significant relationship between the perception of school failure in the students with TMG and the level of integration of these in their centers x2 (4) = 16.250 p .003 <.05. P .039 <.05. The results show that the TMG has an impact on the academic life of students.
