Guidelines for the selection of curriculum materials in teaching English as a foreign language
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the selection of didactic curriculum materials and the role they play in the processes of teaching and learning. Before that, we will look into the concept of needs analysis in order to find out the best materials that can be used. Special attention will be paid to the possibilities of selection, analysis and evaluation of materials, since they are the main means of transmission of contents to students trying to help them develop the basic skills set out in Annex I of the LOE. More specifically, this study will be focused on curricular materials applied to language teaching, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of using them as didactic resources. Finally, some reflections on teaching practice, textbooks and multimedia materials will be exposed.Downloads
