Registro coloquial y humor verbal en el primer acto de Margarita, Armando y su padre (1931): cuestiones lingüísticas y traductivas

Abstract

Verbal humor is one of the most controversial and problematic fields at the translation / translational level, especially when it intersects with colloquial register, which generates other challenges in the linguistic transition. The first act of Jardiel Poncela’s comedy, entitled Margarita, Armando y su padre, presents both aspects; hence, it offers a fascinating example of reflection on the possibilities of Italian translation of some humorous keys, which are related, in many cases, to diastratic aspects that define the characters who carry the comical weight in the work.
