From the booth to the virtual environment: the sudden teaching of online simultaneous interpretation

Abstract

In this article, we want to describe our own experience with regards to the shift from the onsite teaching of simultaneous interpretation to overnight online teaching, when COVID-19 prevented the normal development of our lessons and required a sudden change in less than 24 hours. We will first review the concept of online teaching, the onset of simultaneous interpretation training, the technical requirements to teach this subject and the tools available for it.
