The first translation of Hölderlin into Spanish
Abstract
The first translations of Friedrich Holderlin into Spanish during the first third of the 20th century, refer to three authors: Fernando Maristany, Manuel de Montoliu and Luis Cernuda. They published their Spanish versions of Hölderlin in 1919, 1921 and 1935 respectively. All papers and studies adhered to this chronology until now. Nevertheless, a Spanish translation of Hölderlin by the Chilean- German Guillermo Jünemann (1856-1938), dated in 1910, advances the arrival of the poetry of Hölderlin to the Spanish language in almost a decade.
