Abstract
Between the years 1980 and 2005, the syntax of Spanish newspapers headlines underwent significant transformations, Most remarkable is the shift toward the use of the present tense, in accordance with the Style Guides of the main newspapers. We conclude that these Guides are applied mainly to hard news headlines, while others headlines display a great verbal variety.Downloads
