Abstract

Considering the importance that labour topics had in mass media during the Spanish Political Transition, nowadays this kind of informative contents have taken on a lower relevance. This article explains the main circumstances that have influenced on this lack of interest. In this respect, besides the changes happen in political and economic scenes, we must consider how most of workers have lost their confidence in unions, as it has been proven by the decreased affiliation percentage. However, the importance of labour information and its direct connection on current society do not justify this lack of news, so the situation requires an improvement in the information policy of social agents urgently, a greater specialization of professionals and new contents to satisfy people interests.
