Abstract
Prolific writer and habitual collaborator of the French press of the first half of the XIXth century, Honoré de Balzac was the director and owner of the magazines Le Chronique de Paris and La Revue Parisienne. This article analyzes Balzac’s conception of journalism and his opinion about the role of the journalist of his time through his work as the director of magazines, and two of his works: the novel Lost Illusions, mainly the second part, and his essay Les journalistes: Monographie de la presse parisienne.Downloads
