Familias en la ficción televisiva ante el cambio de siglo: una comparativa entre producciones dramáticas y comedias
Abstract
This article collects a comparison of the family's representation in the TV series of the generalist TV channels between 1990 and 2010, coinciding with the decades before and after the turn of the centur. Based on a qualitative methodology that analyzes the drama and comedy TV series with the most audience successes, the prevailing family models are compared in order to establish whether gender particularities affect the representation of families in narrative plots. The results show a greater tendency towards the destruction of families in comedies, although it is true that the dramatic series, when they do, impetuously break the established family canon.
