The Use of the Conceptual Basis of Comedy in the film Criticism of Ángel Fernández-Santos
Abstract
The film criticism cannot face movies ignoring their precedents, that is, the corpus of films that shapes historical periods, movements, styles and genres, which regularly exert great influence over filmmaking. In the journalistic work of Ángel Fernández-Santos, one of the more influential film critics in the last decades in Spain, the analysis of expressive qualities or anomalies in some specific features involved in comedy comes from a conceptual basis joined to that genre, which understands them as its essential expressive resources.
