Journalists and Cinema in Colombia from the Audiovisual Creation of Events
Abstract
Colombia is undergoing an important moment in its internal armed conflict: The decisión over whether to sign a peace agreement or to continue its internecine war. In this context, this article speaks about a country where guerrilla movements such as FARC and ELN feed a particularly substantial paradox in a 50-plus year old armed struggle: kidnapping journalists in order to, according to them, highlight the media´s silence towards their armed confrontation. This text reconstructs a methodological route that adopted the investigación-creación (research-creation) and dramaturgia del acontecimiento (dramatury of the event) in order to take to the screen such a problematic situation, as lived by journalists from the Colombian newspaper El Colombiano, from the city of Medellin, in the year 2000.
