The Concept of Accountability in Facebook. Railway Accident in Santiago of Compostela
Abstract
This project analyses as, in a prosumer culture, Facebook becomes a new way of relationship between media and public. This research shows that the audience has launched onto the playing field in order to ask for accountability to the mass media. Nowadays this social network is not only a contact tool, but it has also become a useful instrument to get accountability. However, by now the mass media heads ignore the feedback with the users and avoid to have the necessary critical dialogue to make this process take place. Methodologically, this study corresponds with an analysis of content of the comments generated by the information published by La Voz de Galicia in relation to the railway accident happened in Santiago in July.Downloads
