Photographic Image and cultural memory. The case of the Jews in the graphic press of the first half of the twentieth century
Abstract
Photography plays a decisive role in the formation of the collective imaginary and cultural memory. Through the photographs published in the graphic press, the mechanisms of connotation of the images so that they can be interpreted by the readers in cultural memory key applied to a specific group of people, the Jews, are analyzed. The mechanisms that visualize and defining the group, and the stereotypes that define them in Western cultural memory are analyzed.Downloads
