A critical analysis of audiovisual discourses about genderbased violence: a comparative case study
Abstract
Audiovisual formats have become, because of their relevance and leadership, the main representatives of social and media discourse today, and therefore they are the central focus of theoretical reflections on the discourse of the media. In this context, and if we look at the ethical questions in the field of public media entities, audiovisual information on genderbased violence becomes an unavoidable issue. The media are the main source of knowledge of this problem for citizens and one of the most powerful agents for its eradication. Therefore, and to complete previous studies based on written press, this paper aims to provide an overview and a descriptive interpretative analysis of the modes of narration, conceptualization and transmission of this serious problem in the TV news by means of a comparative analysis of four case studies.Downloads
