Construction and reconstruction of teaching identity through academic autobiographies: a practical experience

Abstract

This paper presents an investigation conducted during the academic year 2013/2014 with students of 1 Levels of Education and Primary Education of the University of Málaga. This proposal ensures that future teachers reflect on their professional identity since its incorporation as a student the educational system to the present. In this study, in order to respond to our objectives, we used methods of biographical- narrative research using a tool for information gathering academic autobiography. The data was analyzed based on a series of analytical categories subsequently materialized in acting categories. The findings show that by looking to the past, teachers can analyze how it has been building his professional identity. To construct and reconstruct their academic biography subjected to analysis their experiences, decisions made in your life, what kind of teachers would like to be in the future, etc.
