Open Peer Review (OPR) and Editorial Reports: article Vol. 20 (Special Issue)

Information and Communication Technologies and China’s international communication to the world

Debao Xiang; Weihan Cai

Section: Karpeta

Reviewer A:

Excellent article. It will be a great contribution to the special issue. I have only noticed small formal question to adapt the text to the journal's home style detailed in the authors guideline section in its web: https://revistas.ucm.es/index.php/TEKN/about/submissions

Reviewer B:

This paper has clear logic, complete frame structure, smooth statement, clear and easy to read. By reviewing the historical milestones of China's ICT development and analyzing the process of Chinese media entering the global stage retrospectively, three core viewpoints of this paper are illustrated from the outside to the inside and from the shallow to the deep: (1) China gradually strengthens its soft power through global communication network; (2) the Belt and Road Initiative makes China increasingly participate in global governance; and (3) the transformation of the global communication order.

Would you suggest any changes or make any recommendations to improve the quality of the article?

This paper may consider adding an appropriate part to separately explain the theoretical significance of the research.

Reviewer C:

Please, comment on the most relevant aspects (positive points and areas to improve) of the reviewed article.

This paper is well written and structured, and it contributes to the field of international communication by elaborating the interaction of geopolitics, state and technology in China through a historical approach.
