Emotional competences development through the program AEdEm for secondary education
Abstract
Emotional competences are increasingly necessary as a means to respond to the demands and challenges posed by a constantly changing society. The Program of the subject of Emotional Education (AEdEm Program) for Secondary Education was elaborated with the intention of developing these competences in an educational context.
The main objective of this work is to present the results obtained and to demonstrate to what extent the emotional competences are developed after the application of the AEdEm Program. A quasiexperimental pre-test —post-test design with no control group was used for a sample of 48 people, belonging to two groups of 1st class of compulsory secondary education (ESO). Likewise, based on a deliberate sampling of the total sample, a multiple case study has been carried out.
The results show that the AEdEm program subserves to development of all competences, albeit unequally, being the emotional awareness and emotional autonomy in which more evident results have been obtained.
