Competences training in students of Social Education by practices based on cooperative learning
Abstract
This paper describes an experience of teaching innovation implemented in 2nd academic year of Social Education Degree at the University of Jaen for the subject “Diversity and educational and social inclusion.” To do so, the teacher presents the realization of a project of social intervention that promotes inclusion for a particular group (a social and educational level); It is focused on cooperative learning as basic methodology of teaching and learning in higher education. The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of skills in the training of university students through cooperative learning based practices. Data collection was performed from an “ad hoc” questionnaire by the survey technique (n=63). Results show favorable ratings by university students towards the development of generic competencies established in the European context; cooperative learning based work allows a better development of personal skills, followed by systematic and instrumental. So, it is valued positively the development of skills in the teaching-learning process of students, promoting a comprehensive education and lifelong learning.Downloads
