Abstract

The present article researches upon the influence of the phenomenon of publicity as configuration element of the urban essence in the work of the sketcher and painter Nicolás Gless. In his work, publicity and graphic design surpass the role of ornament to become a hyperbolic feature of modern societies. Some relating to a profound knowledge of artistic movements of XX century and a visual language close to the comic, crystallize into a series of urban landscapes style that is known as “electrographic landscapes” . It is a paradigmatic case of mutual influences between art and publicity prevailing since the middle of XIX century.
