Abstract
This research analyzes the phenomena observed in the translation of the original Chinese literary work The Garlic Ballads, initially translated into English and subsequently into Spanish. Two further issues discussed in this research are: a) translation strategies of highly frequent cultural elements, and b) a comparison between the Spanish version–derived from the English translation–and the Chinese original. In addition to the analysis of cultural elements, this study concludes by evaluating the phenomena involved in second-hand translation.Downloads
