Bilingual Terminology and ad hoc documentation for conference interpreters. A corpus-based methodological approach
Abstract
The conference interpreter should carry out documentation work before, during and after the events in which he is providing his services, regardless of his extra-linguistic sub-competence. Unfortunately, few authors have discussed methodological proposals for this kind of work. The aim of this paper is to briefly review the interdisciplinary bibliography about the possibilities for the interpreter to fulfill his information needs. Furthermore, we aim to present a methodological approach to carry out this kind of work, based on the compilation of ad hoc parallel corpora, terminology extraction and glossaries.Downloads
