The Users Experience on Webdocs, Interactive Documentaries Oriented to the Citizen Participation. The Case of Las ‘SinSombrero’

Abstract

The present article addresses a case of innovative and interactive contents produced by spanish media labs, the webdoc Las SinSombrero, from the audiences’ perspective. On the one hand, it explores the results of their participation in terms of user generated content, and on the other hand, it analyzes the webdoc’s usability determined by user test experiments to more than fifty future journalists, gathering their perception After the experience of consumption.

The results show that these types of projects are valued in a very positive way by the audiences. They also consider it, innovative and of very valuable content. The experience of consumption is dynamic, and there are barely any errors during this, although the greatest difficulties are concentrated, precisely, in the contribution opcions of the users’ content on the webdoc, which seem to take up, in the light of this analysis, a complementary place in front of the visualization and interaction on the content of the online documentary.
