New model of Communication 3.0 in China: the operation of the Wechat mobile application and the Causes of it Success
Abstract
Wechat is a free instant messaging service, including the word communication and voice message service created by the Tencent Inc. It was started in January 2011 and translated into 18 languages. At first, Wechat was known as the "Chinese WhatsApp", but because of the whole process of technology development, now Wechat is not just a communication tool, but as diversified "fusion" offered by services like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Uber, Amazon, PayPal etc. Until September 2017, Wechat already had 963 million users. So, as the result of that Wechat is widely used, the focus of this research is to study the success factors of Wechat in China through a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) and statistical analysis.Downloads
