Student’s learning experience of Theories of Communication in Journalism Degree from flipped classroom model
Abstract
The evolution of the mixed model in the Journalism studies places the subjects with a greater theoretical relevance in front of the challenge pose by the lack of motivation of the students, who don't perceive the real application of theory in the professional life. The adaptation of these subjects into a learning process focused on the student necessities could be faced with implementing models of knowledge construction through active and collaborative learning. This paper presents the students’ perception of Communication Theory (Journalism Studies UPF-Barcelona) after the experimentation with b-learning model ‘flipped classroom’, using the statistical analysis of questionnaires (n=66, 74% participation) in function of their different learning styles. The results have shown a considerably satisfactory learning experience, not by the adequacy of digital and interactive applications designed, but by the active learning activities in-class that achieve a better implication and test the applicability of the scientific knowledge in the professional environment.Downloads
