Mock interviews: a text about Princess Letizia
Abstract
The publication of a fake interview with former time princess Letizia in the Diez Minutos magazine provoked a critical reaction from the social media and from other newspapers. A professional association took up the issue to the Comisión Deontológica de la Federación de Asociaciones de la Prensa. Asked by the magazine, the author of this article wrote a legal report, where he stated that there is a long tradition of fake interviews, and so they cannot be considered as something wrong, if they are presented, as it was the case, as not the real answers, but just made up or fake answers according to what today’s Queen of Spain usually answers when she has been asked the same and also according to the common sense. The verdict of the Deontologic Commission was rejecting the interview, although not fully blaming the magazine.Downloads
