Abstract
Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro and Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao are the parents and the tops of the GalicianPortuguese cartoon by the importance and the influence of their work, never bettered by predecessors or successors. Although they lived in different times, upon forty years between the birth of one and another, we observe in their lives and works some interesting parallels. Both share a similar humorous attitude, based more on irony than in satire, and a stroke of genius enabling them, on the basis of the prevailing styles in their times naturalism (Bordallo) and modernism (Castelao)perform a personal work that will create two schools which have almost reached our days.Downloads
