Abstract

In March 2012 TVE2 premieres “Convive!”, a reality coach defined as “the first program of reconciliation between work and family life. A learning format which aims to find a balance in performing household chores. The media echo the birth of the program highlighting two unusual features: the location of this format on the public channel, and the alleged public interest nature of the initiative, which brings to the fore the issue of work-life balance, and particularly, the equal participation of the couple (particularly, of man) in household activities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of the genre of reality TV in a public space, and its characteristics, dynamic characters and narratives themselves.
