The Spelling of Students in the “Programa de Mejora del Aprendizaje y del Rendimiento”: Normative Approach and Frequent Errors
Abstract
The aim of this research project is to show the teaching of spelling, the didactics and the difficulties that this discipline arise taking attention to diversity into consideration. The “Programa de Mejora del Aprendizaje y del Rendimiento” (hereinafter PMAR) is described, the type of students included in it and the objectives and regulations that have been provided by the education law in terms of spelling. Taking as corpus the essays of students included in PMAR program the most frequent mistakes are identified. The results have revealed that the main sources of error are derived from accents (37,28%), punctuation (29,66%) and capital letters (15,25%).
