The picture books as an environmental practice in the Early Childhood Bachelor Degree: an interdisciplinary experience
Abstract
Children’s literature is an excellent tool for improving the creativity and encouraging relevant educative values, as the respect for the environment. This paper shows an educative experience shared by two subjects in the Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, of the University of Córdoba (Spain): Didactics of the Environment in Early Childhood Education and Linguistic Skills Development and its Didactics. The students were asked to create a picture book related to an environmental issue. In this way, contents of both subjects, cooperative learning and interdisciplinarity were considered during this experience.
