Abstract

This article makes an aproximation of the aspects of self-reference and comunicative ellipsis that shows a number of works of western art. Through a series of well Known examples that datefrom the XVI century in Italy to today, the author tríes toforce a metaphoric reading that brings out concomitances between certain endogamic processes-tautologic-of statement in the work of art and the topic of indescribability.
