Digital education, artistic creations and teacher training
Abstract
This research analyses the process and results of a triple artistic action developed at the Polytechnic University of Valencia with pieces created by students from the University of Valencia. The topic addressed is Digital Education, an aspect that has been reflected by students in the matter “Didactic proposals in art education”, an optional subject of the Arts and Humanities mention, a part of the Primary Education Teacher Degree studies. In 2022, 2023 and 2024, exhibitions have been held with artistic installations made by future teachers. The exhibitions have been presented at the Computer Museum of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Through a case study, the events and the results obtained are reviewed, using Art-Based Research. The motivating effect of this training experience, where the museum is involved as a collaborating entity, determine the advantages of this participatory workshop with original creations, generating a new teaching practices in art education. We incorporate current problems, through social, political and cultural reflections. Research is carried out from the teaching practice itself, involving university students in a participatory and collaborative model.
