Educational policy and emotional competence: a pending subject.
Abstract
This article presents some ideas about the relationship between emotions and politics in Education and the possible shortcomings that we continue to face today.
To do this, first of all, the conceptualization of emotions, as well as competence and emotional intelligence, has been addressed, highlighting their importance in the integral development of the human being. Through some of the most relevant authors, these concepts have been framed in the educational area.
Subsequently, the role that emotions play in politics has been analyzed, with special emphasis on their influence within the area in question. Also, it has been explored how emotional competence is reflected in educational legislation, both nationally (laws and decrees) and internationally (Human Rights, Sustainable Development Goals).
Finally, emotional responsibility has been linked to pedagogical transformation, highlighting its impact on educational change processes.
