In RIBES we use a variety of free and open-source software and tools for journal management and article publication:
- Open Journal System (OJS) version 3.3: for the journal management.
- YOURLS : for URL shortening.
- Pandoc : for converting articles to HTML and EPUB formats.
- Custom scripts in Python : for converting articles to the HTML format.
- VSCodium : for code editing.
- W3C Markup Validation Service : for validating the HTML code of articles.
- W3C CSS Validation Service : for validating the CSS of articles in HTML format.
- W3C EPUBCheck : for validating articles in EPUB format.
- reviews_as_separate_galley_in_OJS: code for the head implementing and styling the documento with the reviews as a separate galley.

For volume 1 and much of volume 2, we created JATS XML for the articles. At the moment, we are no longer doing them. There are screenshots of the JATS XML on the WayBack Machine of the Internet Archive, and the most recent screenshots are from September 13, 2025.
