Analysis of the last three editions of the event Faróis de Alexandria based on a framework for the inclusion of Information Literacy in Vocational Education and Training
Abstract
This article deals with Faróis de Alexandria, an event promoted in Brazil by the José Luciano Pimentel Library of the Instituto Federal do Ceará, campus Cedro. It investigates how can an event contribute to the insertion of Information Literacy in the educational practices of an IEPT, considering the need for the comprehensive professional training of students and future professionals to include information as a dimension of life in the educational process? The general objective of this work is to discuss the role of Faróis de Alexandria in the insertion of Information Literacy in Vocational Education and Training. Its methodology is to report the experiences of the last three editions of the Faróis de Alexandria and to analyze them critically through a framework focused on the insertion of Information Literacy in Vocational Education and Training. It concludes that events such as Faróis de Alexandria aim to contribute significantly to the training of students/future workers information literates in the context of Vocational Education and Training.
