Abstract

This report presents the experiences developed at the José Luciano Pimentel Library of the Federal Institute of Ceará, Cedro campus, a Brazilian educational institution historically associated with vocational education and training, as well as integral education from elementary school to higher education. The experiences discussed here align with the “Creative Intervention” methodology, which aims to promote social change while encouraging student protagonism. This paper examines the creative interventions carried out during the Book and Library Week events in 2019, 2022, and 2023. It concludes that involving students in library activities from the perspective of social transformation is essential to provide them with an emancipatory integral education and to equip them with the tools to develop their own social consciences, enabling them to effectively contribute to qualitative changes in their communities.
