Contents of social sciences and mental capacities in the exams of 5th and 6th of primary school. A skills-based assessment?
Abstract
The objective of this essay is to analyze the exams of third cycle of Primary School about contents of social sciences to know if considers the skills-based. The result of this investigation has obtained from 111 exams and 1240 questions, and from the analysis of the curriculum regulations and didactic programs. For the data processing one designed an instrument of analysis and a data base in which categories and indicators settled down. The main conclusions are that the exams continue being the main instrument of assessment, that continue harnessing memorizing knowledge, with little presence of procedures and attitudes, and that abound the short questions and objective tests.
