The participation of the different sectors of the school community in the reception of foreign students: the vision of families.
Abstract
This paper describes part of a research carried out in the Region of Murcia with the general objective of analyzing the reception of foreign students from the perspective of families, teachers and students. On this occasion we take as an object of study the families and we focus on how they perceive the reception in their centers and what proposals they give to improve it. The collection of information has been carried out through a questionnaire that has been completed by 2193 families from 17 schools of Early Childhood and Primary Education. The results obtained show that there is a high degree of satisfaction on the part of families regarding the reception of students of foreign origin, and guide us in the search for inclusive alternatives that determine the conditions that must occur in educational centers so that cultural diversity establishes an opportunity for growth in this environment , avoiding segregating responses and guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities for all students and their families.
