Fundaments for preventive pedagogy about death at school

Abstract

This article seeks to address the importance of design, organization and implementation of preventive education about death at school. Thus, different sections refer to different factors to be taken into account to reflect and to take preventive education about death at school. We provide different grounds on which it should rethink and reflect on this teaching in schools, which is virtually non-existent. In the XXI century society changes prevail at high speeds. Therefore, teachers should renew and innovate in their educational practices. However, that is no reason to forget the emotional culture for educational standardization of the concept of death. Therefore we appeal to the importance of teacher training regarding pedagogy of death, both preventive and palliative, while one involves the other. We also provide a new definition of preventive pedagogy adapted to our times death and taking into account the different existing educational prospects.
