The English and Spanish translation of the metaphor THE HUMAN BEING IS AN ANIMAL in Wei cheng: a contrastive study from a cognitive perspective
Abstract
Animal metaphors play an important role in the metaphorical system of the Chinese novel Wei cheng, vividly portraying in various aspects the characteristics of the characters. But until today, the subject of their translations has been little studied. By constructing a trilingual parallel corpus, this article aims to conduct a contrastive investigation of the English and Spanish translation of the human-relevant animal metaphors in Wei cheng from a cognitive perspective.
