Abstract
The fundamental duty of the news genre in the press is to bring the reader closer to events in the most objective way possible, with an abundance of data and indications that permit giving a clear and precise idea of the events being tackled. This study analyzes the treatment that Pope Benedict XVI receives in the news genre of the Spanish press. Notice the importance of not falling into determined manipulations, such as stereotypes and of not letting oneself be carried away by rumors at the time of facing the information in a professional way. Also recognize the importance that the media possesses to reveal to us the personalities of world leaders, in this case, that of the Bishop of Rome.Downloads
