Abstract

The violence of Basque youth is a common place, a frequent informative element in the Spanish press. To a great extent one is a stereotype interested, created by the politicians and social mass media. This violence does not have point of comparison with situations of the surroundings and problems of harder meaning: the mistreat of women, the drug addiction, the marginal youth of the Spanish cities, the deaths by traffic accidents or African immigration through the Straits of Gibraltar. The present article reveals some keys and indicators that deny the interested topic of the violence, specially with respect to Basque youth
