Abstract

France is a country where the culture has an important role in the social life, probably more than it has in the Spanish society. The cultural programs of the French channels, specifically the public channels, are higher than the offer of the Spanish TV. Any way, in our neighboring country the “audimat” mentality is producing an evolution to move the cultural programs to the less audience hours band, or restrict the timing, or sometimes simply delete it. The cultural programs are just a victim of the “audimat” dictatorship, and of supremacy show. This research tries to analyse the cultural model assumed by the French television in his actual programation.
